Tan Shou Chen is a theatre maker, focusing on directing and acting. His performing credits span music, theatre, film, TV, and radio. His debut directorial work MEDEA developed under The Substation’s inaugural Director’s Lab Program was well-received in 2014. He directed the NUS Arts Festival opening show in 2015, Words and Music featuring music by Jeremy Monteiro and book by Wang Liansheng. The following year, he staged Now Then Again by Penny Penniston for the 2016 NUS Arts Festival. He also staged a dramatised reading of Singapore’s first English language plays under The Esplanade Studios 50 and a play for the official opening of Singapore’s National Gallery in 2015. He is also a recipient of the National Arts Council Creation Grant to create a Bangkok-Singapore collaborative work for the theatre. www.shouchen.net
