Ali Anwar took an interest in performing at a very young age. He started off with dance in school, but his passion for performing led him to Mediacorp where he has made several guest appearances- most notably being role of Adi in Living with Lydia.

He caught the theatre bug when he landed the lead role on his Secondary school’s musical production The Best Years of Our Lives; and has since then went on to play roles like Oedipus (Oedipus the King), Ramanujan (Abstraction), and the Shepherd in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale when he attended Lasalle College of the Arts for 2 years.

Ali’s passion for performance stems from his deep love for Hindi cinema, and has performed with Bollywood’s biggest stars at IIFA 2012 (Indian International Film Academy Awards); most notably Shahid Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Neha Dhupia and multi-award winning choreographer Vishnu Deva.

He made his theatre debut with TheatreWork’s Incarnation of the Beast and quickly went on to play Sgt Mustaffa in Dick Lee and Michael Chiang’s Beauty World.

Ali gained even more recognition recently when he became a finalist in Dance Singapore Dance; a Bollywood dance competition that airs on ZEE TV Asia.
